About nyra labs

We are building a serious deep-tech presence out of Austria. Not a satellite office, not an outpost: a place where ambitious researchers can work on hard, unsolved problems in speech, publish openly, ship models people actually use, and deepen their expertise on questions that matter. Europe produces exceptional research talent and too few places to apply it at the frontier. We want to be one of those places, in one of Europe's most beautiful cities: Vienna.

Speech carries far more than words: hesitation and repair, rhythm and emphasis, identity, emotion, effort, and strain; vocal sounds, a clearing of the throat, a pause, a sloppy pronunciation, a lisp. Most speech technology throws nearly all of this away and keeps a cleaned-up transcript. We build the technology to keep it, measure it, and represent it, from verbatim speech recognition (CrisperWhisper 2.0) to factorized speech representations (PINT), in deliberate order, toward speech health foundation models. How we get there is laid out in our research roadmap.

nyra labs is the research arm of nyra health, whose products help people recover speech and language after neurological injury. That grounding keeps the research honest: our models are used where the details of speech matter most, and what we learn in the clinic flows back into the lab.
